WHAT HAPPENS NOW?

As you may have heard Torchwood was picked up for a 2nd season last Friday.  Whilst this is fantastic news for the cast and of course fans of the show, it i with great sadness that we must inform you that John Barrowman can no longer make it to Australia for the event.

Unfortunately as a result of the series being picked up John will not be able to make it to Australia in March 2007.  John was planning on coming out for a CD launch and a bit of a holiday.  But due to Torchwood being picked up for another season and the current shooting schedule of season 3 Doctor Who running late, his schedule no longer allows the trip.

We are currently working on rescheduling his visit for another time when John is available and will keep everyone posted.  It was hoped that we could have set a new date over the weekend but we are still awaiting on schedules to be confirmed.

We will be contacting those who have already purchased tickets to this event soon regarding your options including refund, transfer to another event or hopefully a transfer to a new date.

John Barrowman was born in Glasgow, but was actually raised in Joliet, Illinois.  He first came to our attention co-presenting Live and Kicking, alongside Emma Forbes and Andy Peters. In particular, he presented the spot Electric Circus, a weekly media news round up.  Other television credits include Aaron Spelling productions Titans and Stop at Nothing, and the TV special Hey, Mr Producer! The Musical World of Cameron Mackintosh.

Amongst John's many theatre credits are A Few Good Men, Love's Labours Lost, Beauty and the Beast, Sunset Boulevard, Miss Saigon and The Phantom of the Opera.

Visitors from interstate (and of course those who just want to make a weekend of it) will be glad to know that the Bankstown Sports Club has a Travelodge Motel as part of the premises with direct access to the club and function areas. As a result we have been able to negotiate a discounted room rate for all Journey Back To Atlantis attendee's.

All rooms are offered at the rate of $109.00 per night based on one/two persons per room. The room types available at the Travelodge include:

- Standard Queen room - 15 available
- Queen with double pull out sofa - 20 available
- Triple room (three single beds) - 3 available
- Twin room (two single beds) - 20 available
- Studio room (queen bed + double pull out sofa - double in size compared to standard rooms) - 4 available
- King room (king bed, that can be split into single bedding) - 5 available
Attendee's wishing to book rooms at the discounted rate need to inform Travelodge that they are booking for the Journey Back To Atlantis group. Bookings can be made over the phone but the preferred way of booking would be to fax their information through to the hotel or email Brooke Forbes at Travelodge direct on the below details. This way there is no room for errors.
All guests will need to issue the Travelodge with their preferred contact number and credit card details to have their reservation guaranteed.
