FSF Spring Picnic

Where: Parramatta Park, Salter Fields (Map picnic area 5)

When: Sunday September 11, 10.30am till when ever you leave

Bring own drinks and snacks and picnic blankets etc.  FSF will be running a sausage sizzle $2 per sandwich to members $3 non members

Come and have a social get together with others in the club.

Eight or nine months ago I wasn't sure that FSF was going to get to this point. October 2010 saw our meeting attendance numbers fall so far that we had to cancel meetings and we moved the newsletter to a bi-monthly edition. Add to that ever increasing demands on committee members' time and Robbie's battle with illness and a heart transplant and to be honest I thought we would have had to put FSF to bed after almost 16 years.

However, persistence pays off and we have proven more to ourselves than to anyone else that FSF is hard to put to rest. The drive and determination to keep this little piece of fandom going, that all of you members continued to help build, is still there and it seems as if we have come full circle. Certainly we have seen the best of times and the worst of times for FSF but at this point in time all good things do not have to come to an end. FSF has begun its revamp and we are looking forward to the months to come.
